Caroline Ursulak has been a dedicated labour and employment law practitioner since her call to the Ontario Bar in 1997. A graduate of the University of Toronto Law School in 1995, she spent a decade honing her skills in the labour and employment departments of two prominent national firms, representing some of Canada’s leading employers. In 2005, Caroline left Bay Street to establish her own practice, continuing her focus on employment and labour law.
Her expertise spans the entire employment spectrum, from hiring to termination. Caroline is well-versed in drafting employment and executive contracts, as well as retention and separation agreements. She offers guidance on disciplinary and disability management, accommodation, human rights concerns, workers’ compensation, and employment standards claims. When it comes to termination, she handles everything from settlement negotiations to wrongful dismissal litigation.
Caroline has extensive experience as an advocate, representing clients before numerous labour and employment tribunals, including the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. She has also appeared in Ontario’s Superior Court, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal for employment litigation and judicial review matters.
